Quick Review: Murad Clarifying Mask

Ola beauty lovers! I am just on a role with product reviews lately. I have been trying out a couple products to give you guys and gals my feedback on if it's worth the money or not.

As you may know from a few posts back I had a horrifying experience using the Murad Clarifying Facial Cleanser. WELL I was a trooper and that did not scare me away from Murad completely. I feel that I have this want to try products out to save you guys some headache and/or money if I can.

Now don't think that I went and purchased this product! Hell no, the girls at Sephora gave me a couple samples for me to test out for the week. Today's topic is the Murad Clarifying Mask. Ideally this would go in conjunction with the Murad Clarifying cleanser, BUT since the cleanser is a big no no in my books. I just used it on its own.

With any facial mask, before applying always ensure that you cleanse your skin well. Pat your skin dry and then apply the mask. This mask is a creamy white texture, easy to apply, slightly tingles on the skin like most clarifying masks do.

My thoughts on this product you may be wondering? Well.....the good news is that my skin did NOT break out in hives like it did with the cleanser. To be completely honest, the mask did not do much at all. I have used clarifying masks before from different brands, so I know when it's working and when it's not. This Murad clarifying mask only worked as an average drug store mask would.

Which brings me to my next point. The price is $37.00 for 2.05oz. Since the product works equivalent to a drug store brand, why spend triple the money when you can pick up a freeman mask or queen helen mask at a lesser cost?

Oh but I am not done my friends. Looking through the ingredients of this product, the product contains, not one, not two, but has five different types of parabens! Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben....YIKES

My total thoughts? Well, I won't be spending close to $40 on a mask that works as an average mask. If you consumers are unsure for yourself, pop in to Sephora and ask for a sample size for you to try. Some products that don't work for me may work for you. Or they may not work for you. It's up to you to make your own decision. Based on reviews on the Sephora Website, there are a lot of people who enjoy this product. This is just my views on the products and how it worked for my skin. P.s. I have oily combination skin on average, in case anyone is wondering.

Until next time beauty lovers!

Friday Beauty Blues

Ola beauty lovers. It is Friday, thank God! This week has been one of those moosh weeks for me. I am backing up someone while they are on vacation, which means I am on little sleep taking after hours calls and my stress levels are out of this world. My face is breaking out when it should be back to normal from my monthly visitor, and my eyes are puffy from the lack of precious sleep I am running on.

It's safe to say I am ready to punch someone or a wall. To be quite honest with you, this week I haven't had the time to play much with my makeup collection. Most of my week I worked from home, in the event I was afraid if I went into the office I would bite someones head off.

I woke up this morning in a panic with my boyfriend calling me screaming why wasn't I awake yet for work, and it was 9:30am. Which means I wouldn't get to work till about 10:30 or so. Yup that is not like me at all, usually I am sitting at my desk by 9-9:30am latest. I swear this past week is going to give me an ulcer and additional gray hair ( which I already have, but they will get whiter).

I have to say with the minimal amount of make up I have been using, I am still enjoying a couple items here and there....

1. Garnier BB Cream- Medium Dark for oily combo skin ($12-$15)

* I did a review on this a while ago, if you haven't read it please go back a few posts and check it out. This is my favorite drug store brand BB cream, has good ingredients such as caffeine, vitamin c, mineral pigments and mineral perlite to help keep the skin looking like you slept a phenomenal 8-9hours.

2. MAC Paint pot in Utterly Becoming ($23+)

* Now if you watch my Youtube channel you know how much I love to wear my MAC Painterly Paint pot. It is one of my amazing favorites. I use it under shadows, on its own. It is great. I recently picked up Utterly Becoming at a MAC sale for $12 (SCORES) which is amazing. This one is a less pink undertone and more of a brown undertone which looks amazing too. Been using this to cover my discoloration and make my eyes look more awake, because girl I haven't seen  8 hours of solid sleep in two weeks. Love this stuff.

3. NYC Liquid Eyeliner ($2.99)

* My go to eyeliner this week has been the NYC Liquid eyeliner in black. Love this thing. Dries matte. It is not water proof but that's ok for the price. The brush can be a bit tricky if you are not used to it, but once you start to use it then it becomes easier. Love this thing.

4. Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in Chocolate ($23)

 * My last go to product this week to make me look alive would be my amazing dip brow pomade. This thing is my life saver. Eyebrows are what frame your face, they open you up to make you look awake. They are key when doing your make up. Even if you are only doing a tad bit of make up, it is important for you to do your brows at the very least. I am in the color chocolate which is the perfect tone for me and my hair color at the moment. This just defines my brows like no other product has done. Love doing a defines brow with a light paint pot color on the lid and some eyeliner and mascara. That is my favorite simple look when I am feeling like crap but need to look presentable.

And that's all for now folks. I am ready to hit the hay before I get another after hour escalation.

Leave me some comments down below what beauty products you are enjoying this week and if you have any recommendations on products for me to try!
