Summer Essentials: Body & Hair Care

Ola beauty lovers! Yes I know it has been a long ass minute since I have posted. You lovely ladies never leave my mind, believe me. Now that July is here, and I have already shared my summer face essentials, it is now time for Body and Hair care products!

I don't know about you but I go nuts for body care and hair care products just as much as makeup products. With Summer here and I am always in the sunshine when I am not stuck in my cubicle at work with no windows (I know yuck!) there are always certain products I heart during this gorgeous beautiful season.

Let's begin...

1. Bath & Body Works Triple Moisture Body Cream
  • A good moisturizer is key during the warmer months just as it is in the winter months. I tend to stick with the theme of the summer and go with a summer scent to spruce things up. Make sure after your in the sun, you shower and apply a good body cream because your skin will love you forever for that! I enjoy the Bath and Body Works Triple Moisture Body Creams because A. they do not have parabens, and B. they are not greasy, and C. they come in fun scents!

2. Bath & Body Works Body Mists
  • Now with the hot weather, comes perspiration times ten! Now ladies this is nothing to be ashamed of. We are all human. But girls please carry with you a body mist to spritz your self as a refresher if you need to. These two come in fun scents! They also come in travel sizes too so you can throw them in your purse!

3. Moisturizing Body Wash: Dove

  • You always need to make sure your skin is moisturized from the very first step of hygiene. My favorite body wash that just gives my skin the best drink of moisture is Dove. It is affordable and you can find it at any grocery store or drug store.

4. Deep Conditioning treatment for Hair: Coconut Oil OR Macadamia Deep Repair Mask

  • Now I know that some of us are on a budget, and the best most cost efficient deep conditioning treatment there is out there is coconut oil. This amazing natural oil is great for the scalp and hair. Make sure you purchase a bottle that says EXTRA VIRGIN COCONUT OIL because you want the oil to be less processed as possible. You can find this oil at any local grocery store or natural food store for under $10.

  • For those of you who may not have too much time to use coconut oil. The Macadamia Deep repair mask is one of my favorites to use as a treat on my hair. It is on the more pricey side but it works wonders and you do not need to user this every time you shower. I would say once a week if your hair is healthy. Twice a week if you have destroyed your hair where you have so much breakage and processed cuticles that it desperately needs treatment twice a week.

5. John Freida Root Awakening Shampoo
  • Shampoo is another importance for you hair. My favorite for the summer is the John Freida Root Awakening Shampoo. It has Eucalyptus and Mint that cools the scalp and just re-freshens you whole head. With the hot muggy weather we have here in Toronto Canada this shampoo is definitely a cooler for me. This product can be found at any grocery store or drug store. Very affordable as well.

6. Lush Sea Salt Spray
  • Every girl has the need for beach waves in their hair. My favorite product for the summer to get those natural waves is the Lush Sea Spray. Very affordable, about $12 a bottle. Once you get out of the shower towel dry hair, then spray this product in, and as your hair naturally dries you get a cute wave. To enhance the waves braid your hair and let it dry. You can also use this spray on dry hair. Just love this product in the hot weather.

That is all for today ladies! Hope you enjoyed!

Until next time beauty lovers

Nume Megastar Flat Iron

Ola beauty lovers! I am back again to give you a thumbs up review on the latest Nume Megastar Flat Iron.

Now before you readers think that Nume gave this Iron to me, You are wrong. Just like the rest of you consumers, I grabbed a  coupon code from one of those fellow larger You Tubers and redeemed for the iron at a great price spent with my own dollar bills that I work hard for.

This Iron goes for $199.00 on their website. I snagged mine for $79.00 which is an amazing deal. You tubers such as Ciaobellaxo, Whatwouldlizzydo, MakeupbyTiffany, and NicoleGuerriero should all have coupon codes if I remember correctly so go check them out on YouTube to snag a deal.

Anyways, back to the review. I was a bit hesitant to pick this puppy up, BUT I was in the market for a new flat iron since my last one is ten years old, and on its way out the door. Yes I said ten years old. I purchased that bad boy back in high school when I was co-oping at a hair salon. I have dropped it billions of times over the years and it still worked, sometimes it needed a shake or two to get the temperature to where I wanted it but it was great. Times have changed and I needed a new one.

I was tempted to go into Sephora and look into one of those flatirons but I was not in the mood to dish out $200 or more. So I did some soul searching on YouTube about the best flatiron out there and low and behold the Megastar came up time and time again. So I journeyed off to the Nume website to check it out, you know see what the description is the price [even though I had a coupon code ready on hand :) ] Every time I went to that darn website the Nume Megastar flatiron was always sold out!

I said to myself holy moley this iron must be amazing. So I waited patiently in the side lines for them to be restocked. Everyday I went to their website to check on them. Then finally one gracious day at the end of September they were back in stock! I snagged one right away since they sell like hot cakes.

I was so excited to try this baby out and I counted the days down until I got it in the mail.
You may ask why such the hype? Well let me tell you the features on the box:

*100% Tourmaline Ceramic Plates with infrared light
*1 inch precision-engineered floating plates
*25% longer tourmaline plates
*Digital temperature setting between 140-450 degrees F (60-230 degrees C)
*Superior ceramic heating elements
*Far Infrared light beam
*1000% more negative ion conditioning technology
*30min automatic shut off
*360degree power swivel cord
*Rapid heating component heats up in seconds
*Built in thermal fuse
*dual voltage
*Multi-purpose styling tool
*Ergonomic sleek design

My whole take on it all was the infrared lights and how those lights are suppose to help you add hydration to your hair instead of stripping it out. So I couldn't pass it up for the price I got it for.

The very first time I used it I was impressed. The second time I used it I was amazed. Then every time after that I was blown away for how silky and hydrated this tool made my hair feel. Phenomenal! I do not use a lot of product in my hair, and I don't use a lot of product so I can see what the iron is capable of. Obviously to use some product in the hair does help your hair. So once I towel dry my hair I use It's a 10 Miracle Leave in conditioner with keratin. That is the only product I use before I blow dry and flat iron.

This iron is great for straightening your hair before bed, then waking up and you have no kinks in your hair! No joke, I was so amazed that the iron helps prevent kinks in the hair. My hair feels so smooth, silky and looks shiny then it ever did before.

The best part of this tool aside that it helps hydrate and is multi purpose (you can use it to flip or curl as well) is that it helps seal your ends so that they do not split. No joke I used to get a lot of split ends because of using heat tools and since I have been using this iron, my ends have not looked healthier until now. Mind blowing.

The tool is a great hair tool, and very much worth the investment especially if you care about the state of your hair.

Keep in mind that the tool is suppose to help you maintain the health of your hair. You still need to take care of your hair by using shampoo, conditioners, deep conditioners, oil treatments or heat protectants. Do not stop using these products, as the irons purpose is to enhance the outcome of those products results.

Below is the link for the Nume website in case any of you are interested in giving this iron a second glance. You never know this could be the iron for you if you give it a chance :)

Tea Tree Oil: beauty tips and tricks

Ola beauty lovers. I hope you all are having a great weekend. It's a long weekend here in Canada for thanksgiving  so I have lots of eating to do over the next few days.

I wanted to talk to you quickly about a simple ingredient that many of you already know about but some of you may not know about. That is Tea Tree oil.

This oil can be used for multiple purposes which makes it great for your house hold and affordable as well.

Here are just a few things you can use tea tree oil for, to give you an idea of how multi purpose it can be :
1. Tea tree oil is a great remedy for acne spotting treatment. Using a Qtip dip the Qtip in the oil and dab it gently on the affected break outs on your face or body. This oil will dry up the pimples and deminish the redness.

2. Tea tree oil is great to use as a toner after you cleanse your face. Take some distilled water, pour it into a small spray bottle and add a few drops of tea tree oil and shake it up. There you have your own home made toner for your face at a cheap alternative :)

3. Tea tree oil also used as an antiseptic for cuts/scrapes, hang nails, and any type of minor skin reaction you may come across. I have ingrown toe nails and when they flare up I use tea tree oil to help ensure my nails do not get infected. Also when I go for pedicures, after I come home from the spa I put some tea tree oil on my toes to ensure I don't get any infections. You just never know how spas keep thier tools clean. I always say I'd rather be safe then sorry.

4. Tea tree oil can also be used on your hair. When I feel like I need to add a stimulant to my scalp I add a few drops of tea tree oil to my shampoo to get rid of access oils and build up and to stimulate the scalp for better hair growth. Tea tree also is great to keep away lice for those of you with kids in school. Put a fee drops in their shampoo once a week and those little critters should keep thier distance from your kids heads :)

5. Tea tree oil is a disinfectant for non body related items as well. I had tee trea oil in a medium spray bottle and I spray this all over my bed sheets, pillows, carpets, couches etc. This oil is a cleaning disinfectant which works great for those cleaning fanatics.

A small bottle of tea trea oil is around $8-$12 each. Which is pretty good for it being a multi purposes product. Keep in mind that this is an essential oil therefore when you use it remember a little goes a long way.
You can find tea tree oil at any drug store or natural food store. Make sure it says 100% pure tea tree oil on the bottle.

Hope you guys enjoyed this entry
Thanks all for reading!
