MAC Blacktrack Gel Fluidliner Quick Review

Ola beauty lovers. Everyone knows how huge of a fan I am of MAC Cosmetics. I mean my blog nickname should explain it all. BUT There are items that I am just not thrilled with from MAC. Today I am talking about the famous MAC's Black track Gel Liner that every YouTube Guru and Cosmetologist has in their collection. This item is so well known all over the beauty world, but for some reason I find that it is known for only it's brand name.

Are you ready for my opinion on this product? I think this gel liner is average. Yes I said, average for a MAC product. Why? you may ask. Well, the pigmentation on the product is average, if you want deep pigmentation you need to apply more then one coat. Most of the time I apply this gel liner on top of my graphic black eye liner from MAC to get that deeper effect. This gel liner is not water proof. It does have the ability to run and smudge if you don't set it with shadow in the warmer months or if your eye water a lot.

Would I repurchase this product again? No, because I have seen out in the blogger and YouTube beauty community so many other gel liners out there had have a better ability to not smudge, run, and are a lot more pigmented then this product.

If you don't have this liner gel, don't get it. Not worth the money it's valued at $16 US and of course it is a few dollars more in Canada. There are other drug store brand gel liners that are much better quality then this one at half the price.
If you have this product in your stash, I would say this gel liner is decent enough to use as an every day liner until you finish it or until it dries out. But for special occasions I would say this liner is not a great one to work with especially if you plan on dancing up a storm out on the dance floor.

Hope you all enjoy my quick review on this Gel liner! Thank you so much for reading. xo

Mariah Carey OPI liquid sand nailpolish review

Ola beauty lovers! I know the holidays are around the corner so I have been trying to give you all some gift ideas with palettes and makeup products. Today I am going to talk about the latest nail polish gift set from Mariah Carey OPI liquid sand line of nail polish.

This will be a quick review. First off if you know me, I am a nail polish fanatic. I have pretty much every color under the sun. I always do my own nails so I use all my polishes. I change my polish about once every 3 to 4 days. Yes I know excessive but that's what beauty lovers do :)

So this little gift set comes with three mini OPI glitter nail polish shades. There is a champagne nude, a Rosy gold and a taupe purple.

I have only tried out two out of the three colors, but I love these little guys. No one needs a full bottle of polish. I do not see any beauty guru on YouTube showing empty bottles of nail polish in any of their beauty empty videos. You can probably get away with wearing one mini bottle 3 or 4 times, possible 5 times depending how thick you make your coats and really thats all you need to use one nail polish because we always get caught up with new colors all the time.

These shades are gorgeous for this holiday time of year. With a good base coat they do last a good few days on the nails. Now you may ask, well it's glitter so it must be hard to remove afterward....and the response to that is nope, it is not hard to remove at all. Compared to other glitters this line is very easy to remove.

To remove this polish this is what you do:
1. soak your cotton pad in acetone nail polish remover
2. wrap it around your nail and press on the top of the nail with the cotton pad so the remover soaks into the polish.
3. count to 15 seconds and rub the pad around to remove the loosened glitter.
4. wipe your nail clean and move on to the next nail.

This gift set of 3 costs $9.99 at the local beauty supply store. It's a great gift for women and girls who love to paint their nails or who enjoy beauty products period. The colors are very pigmented and you only need a max of 2 coats of polish on your nails with this line. You can get away with one coat but I am a two coat kinda girl :) The finish of the polish is a sand texture hence the name "liquid sand" but it is not a rough texture, it does not scratch the skin if you were to rub the top of your nails on your skin.

Below I have a couple of swatches and images of the product itself.

Until next time beauty lovers!

Limited Edition Palettes Part 2

Ola Beauty Lovers! With the holidays coming up quickly, I want to get this part 2 up so that you all can make your decisions for the holiday season of gift giving to someone else or yourself. Come on, who doesn't buy for themselves at one point or another?

So here is my Part 2 of the Limited Edition Palettes.

Smash Box Heat Wave Palette: $54.00+tax
  • This palette is great for those summer lovers. Smash Box has always been one of my top end brands to go to for eye shadows. This palette has 10 full size eye shadows (shadow pans are equivalent to MAC eye shadow pans) plus a double ended eye shadow brush.
  • The quality of the shadows are amazing, very pigmented and easy to blend.
  • The color range is great. There are a great selection of neutrals and darker shades to take any day look into a smokey dramatic night look.
  • Out of the 10 shades only 2 shadows are matte enough for blending purposes, the rest are more on the shimmer side. I know there are people out there who would prefer a more matte palette but these shades are worth the splurge for how pigmented and blendable they are. With two matte blending shades what more do you really need?
  • The size of the pans are fairly larger then most pan sizes in the beauty industry which is a bonus.
  • The double ended brush has a larger shader brush on one end to pack on the color, and on the other end there is a short shader brush for more detailed work. The shorter shader is great for under the eye work, inner corner work, or even the brow bone.
  • This palette also comes with a huge mirror on the top which would come in use when traveling.
  • The packaging is sleek and compact. The packaging material is like a hard plastic material so the palette will not get dirty, and if it does it is easy to clean off.
  • Even though they call this a summer palette, you can get away using this palette through out fall and winter as well, since they have a few warm and cool tones included you can widen your range of looks.

Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette: $68.00+tax

  • This palette is the IT palette. Urban Decay is very well known for the quality of their eye shadows. So it doesn't surprise me when I saw this palette release and a lot of beauty lovers jumped hoops to go grab it. Yes I admit it, I did too, I have nothing to be ashamed of.
  • These shadows are made without Parabens, Sulfates, & Phthalates which is a bonus for those more aware consumers out there.
  • The palette comes with 20 shades of a great range of colors. There is a great selection of neutrals for daytime looks, and there are great colors to deepen any day time look into a night time look with in seconds.
  • The quality of the shadows are fabulous. Very buttery creamy formula, easy to blend and the pigmentation is floor stopping.
  • This palette also comes with a double sided brush, which I enjoy. No make up lover can have too many brushes let me tell you. One end of the brush is a tapered blending brush for the crease, the other end is a more wider shader brush where you can use it on the lid or in the crease.
  • There are about 2 or 3 matte shades to blend with. I was a bit disappointed on the selection of matte shades for blending purposes, but I can deal with it if I have too.
  • The price for this palette is a steal. One Urban Decay Shadow is $23. This palette is worth $460 but you are only paying $68 plus applicable taxes. Such a great item to add to your collection if you are a palette lover like I am. Plus I missed out on the Vice 1 palette so I just HAD to get this one.

Lorac Pro To Go Palette: $50+ tax

  • I am not too sure if this palette is limited edition. However I was only able to purchase it through online only, so I am assuming it is a type of limited edition product.
  • I saw this palette on a few beauty gurus on YouTube and I was sold. I love my neutrals, so for those of you who have a weakness for neutral shades, be aware this one will get you.
  • The palette comes with 6 shadows, 2 blushes, and 1 bronzer and 2 shadow brushes.
  • This is a great deal for a full face palette.
  • The shadows are 3 matte and 3 shimmer shades, and the quality of the shadows is great. If you love the Lorac PRO Palette then you will love this PRO to Go palette. The shadows are very pigmented, creamy, easy to blend.
  • The blushes are on the matte side and so is the bronzer, both are very pigmented and easy to blend as well
  • This palette can go from daytime neutral to intense smokey dark night look with no problem and even though you have two blushes and a bronzer in their, doesn't mean you only have to use them for blushes. If you want to spice up a neutral eye look go ahead and use those blushes for eye shadow, why not? No one is stopping you from doing that.
  • The packaging is like the NARS packaging so dust or make up residue will cling to the packaging if you are not careful. It is a more smaller travel friendly palette if that is what you are in the market for.

Well Beauty Lovers, I hope this helped you in making a decision on which Limited Edition Palette to pick up. There are a lot more out there on the market, but these were the ones I purchased with my own money and enjoy.

Leave me a comment down below if you have any of these palettes or if you have different palettes that your enjoying that are from a limited edition line.

Until next time beauty lovers <3

End of October Beauty Empties 2013

Ola Beauty Lovers! I know its been a minute since I have been on here. I have been posting on my YouTube Channel: MacGirl25Antonietta more frequent then my blog. I am sorry just been catching up on my day time job and some personal issues I am going through.

Today I am here to show you my end of October Beauty Empties. I am so excited to get rid of these empties since they have been sitting in my room for some time now. Let's jump in.

1. Equate Cotton pads
- Bought these at Wal Mart for $2 and you get 150 cotton pads. They do the job to remove eye makeup or even nail polish. For so cheap you can not go wrong! Great product.

2. Origins Gin Zing Eye Cream (Sample size)
- Got this sample from Sephora, tried it under my eyes at night to hydrate. The label claims it should brighten and de-puff, but all it really did for me was hydrate. I did not notice any de-puffing or brightening going on. I doubt I'll buy this in full size.

3. Balea Detoxifying Face Mask
- Love this line of at home face masks. I buy mine at Shoppers Drug Mart for 3 for $5. They have a whole bunch of scents and different purpose masks. Great way to spend your evenings un-winding from a hectic day. I will always re purchase these.

4. Givenchy for Her Fragrance (Sample Size)
- I enjoyed this sample size of the Givenchy for her. It has a sweet smell but not over powering at all.
Don't you just hate when you get headaches from strong perfume? Well this does not do that at all. Once I finish a couple of my regular size bottles of perfume I do believe I will be picking this one up. I have one more sample of this one and I have been savoring it :)

5. Ardel Runway Fancy and Fashion 111 Lashes
- I have been trying to use more false lashes lately. With Halloween that just passed I used the Runway Fancy ones for that. The Fashion 111 lashes I re used a few times since they are reusable as long as you take care of them. The Runway Fancy lashes were horrible. They had the worst band on them that they irritated my lash line. The Fashion lashes were a lot better, their band was thin and clear so it did not irritate me at all. I just stocked up on the lashes from Ardel, the natural/fashion ones since their bands are more wearable then those runway line is. Ardel Lashes are pretty affordable. Sally's Beauty Supply has them for about $6 and sometimes you can find them on sale for 2 for $5!

6. 2 of the Silk Elements Olive Conditioner
- You guys have seen these in my empties time and time again. I get them at Sally's Beauty Supply, usually they are on sale for $0.99 which is a great deal. I have a few more to get through but I always enjoy this conditioner as everyday conditioner. Hydrates amazing and does not leave my hair greasy.

7. John Masters Organics Lavender Rosemary Shampoo
- I found this line on Nailpolishcanada.com. I thought I would try it out since it is organic, no parabens, no sulfate, no chemicals. The shampoo was $16. I loved the smell of the Lavender and Rosemary however I did not find that this shampoo really cleaned my hair. No it's not about the lathering for me. It's about when I get out of the shower and dry my hair I notice my hair is still a tad oily and it drove me up the bloody wall. I used so much of the shampoo to ensure I covered all my head and still it did not cleanse how I wanted it. Definite fail for me. Not worth the $16.

8. Bath & Body Works Candle in Harvest Gathering scent
- Got this medium size candle for Bath & Body Works for free after spending a certain amount of money. It was a great scent, I enjoyed it so much. I now started burning the large fall scent candles I have purchased from there. Yummmmy.

9. Yves Rocher Coconut lip balm
- Had this lip balm in my collection for a few years, worked hard to finish it because I could not stand the consistency of the balm. It was in a pot which is hard to work with because you don't want to get your hands dirty plus the balm itself felt gritty on my lips. Not refreshing at all. Thank God it's done. Will not repurchase that every again. I don't even know if they still make that line.

10. Growth Spurt Base Coat
-Finally readers this is my last empties for the end of October. This is my ultimate favorite nail polish base coat to strengthen and lengthen your nails. You can find this at Sally's Beauty Supply for $8 - $9 each. Love this stuff so much I stock up with back ups. My nails have chipped and split on the sides from stress and weather change that I had to cut them all short. This base coat is a miracle worker!

Well my fellow readers, that is it for my end of October Beauty Empties! Hope you enjoyed this article!

Tea Tree Oil: beauty tips and tricks

Ola beauty lovers. I hope you all are having a great weekend. It's a long weekend here in Canada for thanksgiving  so I have lots of eating to do over the next few days.

I wanted to talk to you quickly about a simple ingredient that many of you already know about but some of you may not know about. That is Tea Tree oil.

This oil can be used for multiple purposes which makes it great for your house hold and affordable as well.

Here are just a few things you can use tea tree oil for, to give you an idea of how multi purpose it can be :
1. Tea tree oil is a great remedy for acne spotting treatment. Using a Qtip dip the Qtip in the oil and dab it gently on the affected break outs on your face or body. This oil will dry up the pimples and deminish the redness.

2. Tea tree oil is great to use as a toner after you cleanse your face. Take some distilled water, pour it into a small spray bottle and add a few drops of tea tree oil and shake it up. There you have your own home made toner for your face at a cheap alternative :)

3. Tea tree oil also used as an antiseptic for cuts/scrapes, hang nails, and any type of minor skin reaction you may come across. I have ingrown toe nails and when they flare up I use tea tree oil to help ensure my nails do not get infected. Also when I go for pedicures, after I come home from the spa I put some tea tree oil on my toes to ensure I don't get any infections. You just never know how spas keep thier tools clean. I always say I'd rather be safe then sorry.

4. Tea tree oil can also be used on your hair. When I feel like I need to add a stimulant to my scalp I add a few drops of tea tree oil to my shampoo to get rid of access oils and build up and to stimulate the scalp for better hair growth. Tea tree also is great to keep away lice for those of you with kids in school. Put a fee drops in their shampoo once a week and those little critters should keep thier distance from your kids heads :)

5. Tea tree oil is a disinfectant for non body related items as well. I had tee trea oil in a medium spray bottle and I spray this all over my bed sheets, pillows, carpets, couches etc. This oil is a cleaning disinfectant which works great for those cleaning fanatics.

A small bottle of tea trea oil is around $8-$12 each. Which is pretty good for it being a multi purposes product. Keep in mind that this is an essential oil therefore when you use it remember a little goes a long way.
You can find tea tree oil at any drug store or natural food store. Make sure it says 100% pure tea tree oil on the bottle.

Hope you guys enjoyed this entry
Thanks all for reading!
Until next time beauty lovers ❤️
