You are beautiful from the inside: Inner Beauty Tag

Ola beauty lovers! I know it has been a minute since I have touched base, but I promise you that I have some up coming posts you will all enjoy. Some events are coming my way and will be sharing with you my experiences as well with beauty products I use to achieve the looks I came up with.

I know a lot of us beauty bloggers and YouTube peeps always talk about the beauty products we love to use every day, and the beauty products that are not worth spending your money on. Which is great and all, but what about our thoughts on beauty coming from inside you?

Today is going to be the "Inner Beauty Tag" and these answers all from from me and my opinions. Enjoy :)

1. What is real beauty to you?

  • Real beauty to me is all about your heart and your mind. When someone has an amazing heart, and a great mind together they make a person beautiful. Think of it this way, when someone doesn't have a heart, and is not kind, they are not fun to be around because they are always miserable or only out for themselves. A lot of how you think and act relates to your way of thinking. If you mind is always set in negative motion then no one will every want to spend time with you or hang out because negative thoughts attract more negative thought. Real beauty is all about a good heart and a great mind. Keeping it positive.

2. What is more important to you, inner or outer beauty?

  • Inner beauty of course. When you focus on inner beauty within your self or in someone else, then your life is just that more amazing. Outer beauty is a bonus, but if you don't have inner beauty then you just end up living a miserable life, and I am sure that no one wants to live unhappily.

3. Are you confident without makeup on?

  • Yes, On days when I don't need to go to work and be all office professional,  I try not to wear makeup. I prefer not to wear makeup on my days off, so I can let my skin breath. Usually my makeup is minimal unless I have a special event to go to then I will glamorize it. But for majority of the time I don't wear makeup on my days off. I don't even wear makeup when I hang out with my boyfriend. I still feel confident without make up on. However makeup just gives a little boost in my current confidence if I ever have a moosh day.

4. What makes a person beautiful?

  • Like I mentioned in the first question above, what makes a person beautiful is a kind heart, and an amazing mind. When you have both those working together, that person will be amazingly beautiful.

5. Do you feel different with your makeup on and off?

  • I think makeup gives all women and men a boost of their existing confidence. Makeup is not to be taken seriously. It is suppose to be fun to play with, apply, wear, and remove at the end of the day. Makeup is an art and is suppose to be enjoyable to use all these products that are out on the market today. Personally for me there are times where I feel different when my make up is on. That is just those days where I need that extra boost of confidence, which I am sure a lot of woman can relate to.

Saturday Shopping at Sephora!

Ola beauty lovers! It is one of those Saturday’s where I am home, and bored. I know I sound like a kid whining to their parents that they are bored. I remember I used to always do that to my mom and she would say “How can you be bored with all the toys and books you have?” I think every kid does that at one point in their childhood. It’s only natural. But when you become an adult like me, it’s a bit pathetic.

I recorded two YouTube videos for my channel, please go check them out below if you are not following my channel, and make sure you SUBSCRIBE! :)

Any ways as I was saying I was a tad bored earlier today, so my girlfriend Maria texts me and says I am going to the mall you coming? Now, when any girl gets an invite to accompany their friend to the mall you definitely accept unless you have a prior engagement to attend. So I said HELL YES. So off I went to the mall to meet her. I was supposed to work out today, but I woke up with a sore throat and said, ok guess that isn’t going to happen. Usually when my body aches like that, I try not to work out and make it worse. Lord knows my tonsils have a mind of their own and I can’t afford to take any sick days off right now with work being so damn busy.  So I thought the walking around the mall would be a good source of movement. Usually when I am at the mall I put up a sweat, not by choice, just by walking the entire mall in and out of stores.

I had some items in mind to purchase from Sephora, since I had a few gift cards laying around from Christmas. Plus I wanted to stop into MAC because I had some back to MAC empties to return for a free lippie.  Well, I think I did well because once I got there, I did a walk-a-thon in the entire mall and it was nice to walk around and get some leg work in.

Sephora was busy as hell. But really when is Sephora ever NOT busy? To get a chick to help you with some samples is like pulling teeth sometimes. Sephora if you are reading this you must put more girls on the floor to help out customers ESPECIALLY ON A SATURDAY! So I managed to pick up the Buxom Lip Gloss in White Russian because everyone and their mother rave’s about how such a great topper it is on a nude or light pink lipstick. Then I also picked up the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in the color Chocolate.  The samples I got were the Glam Glow mask in the white jar and blue jar. I think the white jar is to help clear up acne and the blue jar is to hydrate. I wanted to try those two out first before I get suckered into buying them full price (each tiny jar is like $69 plus tax, ouch I know).  Also picked up the Formula X nail polish in the color Alive since it is their spring 2014 limited edition collection and fell in love with this shade.
Then when I strolled over to MAC to get my free lipstick, I decided to go with the famous shade Myth. I know another nude to add to my collection but no girl can ever have enough nude lippies in their collection. Nudes are the most wearable on an everyday basis all year round!
I did head over to Sally’s beauty supply but I did not do much damage there. I only picked up my conditioner form L’oreal, and a couple of nail items. If you want to see those items, then I encourage you to go watch my YouTube Video linked below :)

After spending a few hours in the mall I was pooped.  I was ready to eat something hardy and healthy then heading home. I grabbed Greek food to eat and then went home to do my weekly stuff around the house.
Well fellow readers that was my Saturday. If you want to see reviews on any of the products I have mentioned please leave me a comment below and let me know.

Keeping your Makeup Brushes clean

Ola beauty lovers! Today's discussion is going to be make up brushes, and how to keep them clean. Now I know that make up brushes can be expensive. So you want to make sure you take care of them so they last a life time. God knows that ain't no girl got money to blow on make up brushes every couple months to replace a good set that you have already spend money on, and used to the ground.

Now there are plenty of different make up brush brands you can choose from when you purchase yours. Me personally, I have a wide range of brands. Sigma Beauty Brushes, Elf Brushes, MAC Brushes, Real Techniques Brushes, Sephora Brushes, Sedona Lace Brushes, Urban Decay Brushes, Quo Brushes etc. As you can tell I have a wide range of different brands. All their prices range from less expensive brands and expensive brands.

No I did not get all these brushes at one time. Yes I purchased these brushes with my own dollar bills. These brushes are my collection of brushes over the years of doing makeup on myself and we are taking like as of Grade 8. Makeup brushes are like an investment. Sure you buy makeup and you use it and once you finish the product you toss the package and move on, BUT Makeup Brushes, if they are taken care of properly are with you for LIFE. So I want to take care of my investment so that I don't have to keep replacing my investment. Make sense? Well to me it does.

Moving on, there are two different ways to clean your brushes. If you daily need to clean your brushes because you use a whole bunch of different shadow colors or pigments then you would need to do what is called a "Spot clean". That is just a quick disinfectant to remove any surface bacteria and color on the brush if you plan on dipping it into another product when you are applying a face of makeup. I have two options in spot cleaning. The first is the more expensive root, and that would be purchasing the MAC Makeup Brush Cleanser, pour some into a little spray bottle, and spot clean by spraying the solution on your brush and wiping the brush back on forth on a Kleenex or towel. The second option is least expensive, take a small spray bottle, pour distilled water and a few drops of tea tree oil in the water. Close the top, shake well and spray, there you have a cheap BUT effective solution to spot clean your brushes.

The last cleaning type is called "Deep Clean". If you are a makeup artist and use your brushes regularly on clients then a deep clean for your brushes is a must after you use them on each client. If you only do makeup on your self then I suggest a deep clean of your brushes between once a week, to every other week, or once a month. My skin is very acne prone, so I try to deep clean mine once a week. If your skin is not as sensitive or acne prone you could wait longer if needed. Deep cleaning your brushes is when you take these suckers to the sink and use a deep cleanser for brushes or shampoo (regular or baby shampoo), or gentile dish soap. There are so many expensive deep cleansing brush soaps that are probably great, but realistically not everyone has the money to blow on stupid things like makeup brush cleaners when you have other important expenses. Therefore, the least expensive way to deep clean your brushes would be taking shampoo/dish soap or hand soap that is already in your house and rinse the brushes under water then swirl them around in the soap in a bowl making sure that soap gets deep into those bristles to kill any germs or bacteria and wash out any of the left over make up in between the bristles. Once its swirled around, rinse the brushes thoroughly and re shape them with your fingers, and lay out to air dry. If you find that your shampoo is to drying on the bristles mix in some conditioner in your soap solution and there you have a cleanser and conditioner for those brushes.

I know you are thinking girl I ain't got time for this, but listen to me, if you don't make time for this, your are going to be putting on your makeup with the most disgusting bacteria filled brushes that you will begin to break out, or your skin will look horrible when you apply your make up on if you don't cleanse your brushes.

It ain't pretty when you buy that expensive NARS Laguna bronzer and you go apply it with a bacteria filled brush. NASTY. I can't stress enough to make sure you clean your brushes!

That is as simple as it gets. Below I have included some photos on the products I use to clean my brushes.

Clarisonic Diaries March 6 2014

Ola beauty lovers! I know I have been slacking on the posts. Lately I posted a few of my YouTube videos because I wanted all my readers to check my YouTube Channel out!

So I am going to give you an update on my skin. Been sticking to using the Clarisonic once or twice a week just like last time. Pretty much all my skin care products are all the same from last time. If you haven't seen my last posts go check out this link. http://macgirl25.blogspot.ca/search?q=clarisonic+diaries

Any way, my skin is pretty decent at the current moment. In all honesty I am starting to learn more and more that my skin will break out at its worst either A. When I am Ovulating (Yes I said ovulating, for those men out there suck it up and deal with reading this it's natural) or B. When I am about to come on to my period (That's right I said PERIOD, you guys need to get used to it if you want to keep a girlfriend).

So I figured I need to whip my ass into shape in getting my skin back to its youth and by youth I mean as clear as possible. I have been working out about three times a week as of Jan 6, changed my eating habits. Cut A LOT of sugar out which was made a huge difference. Now I am trying to keep it up and going. It can be hard at times but honestly my skin has changed a bit and is not as irritated as it once was. If you check out the link above you will see how bad it was (mostly hormonal break outs but it was like all the time and that's when I knew it had to do with my nutrition as well)

Now I drink more water, do a lot more cleanses and when I say cleanses I mean lemon with water. Really helps to de-bloat me and clean my insides which also includes to help clear the skin. You don't really know how much what you eat affects the function of your body. I learned this when I started reading Cameron Diaz book The Body Book. She is great in telling you basic facts about your body you should know in order to take care of your self. Amazing tool to use to help you get back on track being more healthy and making healthier choices.

I still use my Estee Laudier face wash, still use my Lush Ocean Salt exfoliate and mask of magnaminty, and of course my ProActiv Refining mask for spot treatments. If you compare these pictures below to the ones I posted a couple months ago you will see a great improvement. I have some discoloration because of the cystic acne I had but that can be dealt with creams and such over time.

It can be exhausting to keep up with a skin care regimen but it is worth it if it boosts your confidence in showing off your skin in public. Believe me I am more confident now than I was when I first started this series on the Clarisonic Diaries.

That is about it for now ya'll. Thank you all for reading and following my posts. I really appreciate it!  Please remember to hit that follow button!
